CONGRATULATIONS TO SPINAL INJURIES ASSOCIATION VOLUNTEERS

Medilaw would like to warmly congratulate Spinal Injuries Association volunteers, Wayne Leo and Scott Stidston. Both gentlemen have been awarded Order of Australia Medals in 2012 edition of The Queen’s Birthday Honours List. Wayne and Scott have been acknowledged for their remarkable contribution to the Spinal Injuries Association’s, Spinal Education Awareness Program (SEAT). The Queen’s Birthday Honours List provides national and formal recognition of Australians who have made a significant difference to their communities.

Wayne and Scott have dedicated tens of thousands of hours volunteering for the Association and between them have accumulated over 43 years of invaluable work. Wayne is a foundation member of the SEAT Program from its inception 25 years ago and has presented to almost 300,000 children from prep to year 12 to impart the vital message of how to stay safe and injury free. Scott has been a SEAT presenter for 18 years and is also a keen advocate for the rights of people with disabilities through campaigning for accessible and equitable treatment.

Medilaw is immensely proud to sponsor the Spinal Injuries Association and the incredible work of the SEAT Program, and their inspirational and dedicated volunteers. The Medilaw specialists hope by empowering the community through an investment in spinal education, that spinal injuries will be prevented. Congratulations to Wayne and Scott on their Queens Birthday accolade and many thanks for your vital contribution.
