Summary
Dr Peter Sharwood attained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1971 at the University of Queensland. In 1982, Dr Sharwood qualified as an Orthopaedic Surgeon, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He has also been awarded an Order of Australia Medal for recognition of his service in Australia’ss Armed Forces.
Dr Peter Sharwood is currently in private practice and is Deputy Chairman for Q-Comp Medical Assessment Tribunals. He is also a Visiting Orthopaedic Surgeon at Greenslopes Private Hospital. Previously, Dr Sharwood served as Visiting Orthopaedic Surgeon, both at Gallipoli Army Barracks and Yeronga Hospital in Brisbane. He is a member of the Australian Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr Peter Sharwood is able to assess all Orthopaedic injuries, with a specialty in hand, upper limb and spine. He has a particular interest in military orthopaedics, having served in the Australian Army for over 40 years.
