Summary
Dr Marsh completed training in Psychiatry and subsequently subspecialty training in old age psychiatry in 2000 and 2002 respectively. He is a member of the faculties of old age and forensic psychiatry. For over a decade, he has worked as a Consultation-Liaison psychiatrist in private practice and at the Royal Brisbane and Women’ss Hospital, specializing in the mental health of patients with medical and neurological disorders.
He has extensive experience in the provision of reports for WorkCover Queensland, as well as the assessment of impaired medical practitioners for the medical board of Queensland. Dr Marsh is highly experienced in the clinical care of the patients who have psychiatric concomitants of medical illness and trauma. This has included patient populations with: burns, orthopaedic, neurosurgical, spinal and head injuries; along with degenerative neurological disorders, oncology, and general medical conditions.
He is a committee member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists’ local neuropsychiatry section, and has previously co-ordinated the continuing medical education program for Queensland psychiatrists. He regularly lectures medical students, psychiatry trainees, and local neurologists on neuropsychiatry topics.
