Summary
Dr Simon White is an experienced Occupational & Environmental Physician having worked in various industries over the past 25 years. His areas of expertise are Fitness for Work assessments, Independent Medical Examinations, Health Surveillance and Permanent Impairment assessments.
Dr White completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in 1994 and worked in aviation, industrial laboratories, remote mine sites, petrochemical industry, energy generation and engineering consulting. He then completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy/Bachelor of Exercise Science in 2003. During this time, Dr White gained extensive experience in return to work process and the role of early intervention and preventative solutions in the workplace.
Dr White obtained his medical degree from the University of Queensland in 2011.
He then became a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AFOEM) in 2019. During his fellowship Dr White worked in, and advised on, many industries including mining, health, aged care, retail, logistics, pharmaceuticals, metalliferous and precious mineral industries, manufacturing and more.
Dr White has a special interest in workers’ ability to perform the essential and inherent requirements of their jobs. Dr White taught as an Associate Lecturer for the University of Queensland School of Medicine and coordinated the Rural Health Project for medical students on their rural rotations.
